The lead-time problem
We don't open a kitchen against a hope.
The longest thing in a kitchen remodel is not the work. It's the cabinets, and after them the countertop, which can only be templated once the boxes are actually installed and level.
So we build the calendar backwards. Selections get made, cabinets and tops get ordered, and only when there's a confirmed delivery date do we set the demo date against it. You keep cooking right up until the week we have something to install.
It sounds obvious. It is also the single reason most kitchen jobs run weeks over — somebody demoed first and started waiting second.

Layout and measure
Field measure of the real room, not the plan. We mark where appliances, outlets and the sink actually land before anything is ordered.
Ordering and lead times
Cabinets, tops and appliances get ordered and confirmed first. Demo is scheduled backwards from the delivery date so your kitchen isn't a construction site waiting on a truck.
Demo and haul-out
Old cabinets, tops, flooring and backsplash out, protected route to the door, debris gone the same day.
Framing and layout changes
Opening a wall, moving a doorway, building an island base or furring a wall for a new run — with the load path checked before anything is cut.
Plumbing and electrical rough
Sink and dishwasher supply and drain relocated, disposal, ice maker line, dedicated appliance circuits, under-cabinet and island outlets, range hood ducted outside.
Cabinet installation
Base and wall cabinets set level to a laser line, shimmed and scribed to a floor and wall that are never square, and screwed into blocking rather than drywall.
Countertop template and install
Templated on top of the installed cabinets — the only way it fits — then fabricated, delivered and seamed with the sink cut and mounted.
Backsplash, trim and finish
Tile and grout, crown and light rail, toe kick, filler panels, hardware, paint touch-up, appliance hook-up and a punch-list walk-through.

The order matters and the waiting matters. Here's the honest version of a kitchen timeline.
The temporary-kitchen conversation happens at the estimate, not on demo day. We'll tell you which weeks you'll be living off a microwave and a coffee maker.

Selections and orders
Cabinets, tops, tile, fixtures and appliances chosen and ordered. Nothing gets demolished during this phase — you keep cooking.

Delivery confirmed, demo scheduled
Once the cabinet delivery date is real, we set the demo date against it and give you the full working calendar.

Demo, framing, rough trades
Tear-out, any layout change, plumbing and electrical rough, permits and inspections with your town.
- 04
Close-up, floor, cabinets
Board, tape, prime, flooring where it runs under the cabinets, then cabinets set and levelled.
- 05
Countertop template and install
Templated on the installed boxes. Fabrication is the one gap we can't compress, and we tell you how long it is before you sign.

Backsplash, trim, appliances, walk-through
Tile, grout, trim, hardware, appliances connected, punch list closed, kitchen cleaned and handed back.

Straight answers
What people ask about kitchens.
How long will I be without a kitchen?
For a straightforward kitchen with no layout change, plan on roughly three to five weeks on site — plus the countertop fabrication gap between template and install. We give you the real calendar in the written proposal.
Can you move the sink, or take out a wall?
Usually yes. Moving a sink means new drain and supply, and taking out a wall means checking whether it's carrying load and how the ceiling above is framed. We look at both at the estimate before anyone promises an open floor plan.
Do you supply the cabinets and countertops, or do I?
Either works. If we supply them, they're ordered on our timeline and we own the delivery date. If you supply them, we build the schedule around your delivery and we'll tell you what we need and when.
Do you pull permits?
Yes, for the plumbing and electrical work, with your town's building department. We schedule the inspections too.
What does a kitchen remodel cost?
Cabinets and countertops drive the number, and both are choices you make. That's why we don't quote kitchens over the phone — the free on-site estimate produces a written itemized price within 48 hours.
Can you keep the kitchen usable during the work?
Partly. There's a stretch — from demo through cabinet install — where the room is out of service. We plan the temporary setup with you before demo day rather than after it.
