Bathroom Remodeling · Belmont, MA

Bathroom remodeling in Belmont,on the family's one full bath.

Belmont houses were built to last and they were built with one full bathroom. The hall bath in a 1930s colonial off Common Street is doing the same job in 2026 that it did in 1936, except now it serves four people and a morning schedule.

What a Belmont bathroom throws at a crew.

The stock is consistent in a way that helps: centre-entrance colonials and Dutch colonials on and around Belmont Hill, capes and bungalows near Waverley Square and Cushing Square, and a run of post-war houses toward the Watertown line. Hex-tile floors, cast-iron tubs, a linen closet where you'd want a shower, and a window in exactly the wrong place.

Most of our Belmont work is a full gut of a 5×8: move or lose the linen closet, get a real shower in, put the window in a wall that can take it, and finish the room so it reads like it was always that way. Because it's usually the only full bath in the house, we plan the sequence around getting the toilet back in service as fast as the work allows.

What we run into here

One-bath households
We sequence the work so the toilet returns as early as possible, and we tell you which nights are the hard ones.
Linen closets in the way
Borrowing the closet is often the only way to get a proper shower. That's framing and drain work, not a fixture swap.
Windows inside wet walls
A window in the shower wall needs flashing and a waterproofing detail most crews skip. We do it properly or we move the shower.

What it costs you in days

Seven working days in Belmont.

The sequence doesn't change from town to town — only what we find behind the plaster does.

  1. 01Day 1

    Protection and demo

Dust wall up, room stripped to the studs, debris out the same day. This is also when surprises surface, and when we tell you about them.

  2. 02Day 2

    Rough plumbing and electrical

New drain and supply, valve set, GFCI and lighting, fan ducted outside. Permits pulled with your town and inspections scheduled by us.

  3. 03Day 3

    Waterproofing

Mortar bed, membrane, banded corners, flood test. This is the day that decides whether the ceiling below stays dry for twenty years.

  4. 04Day 4

    Tile and grout

Dry layout first so the cuts are deliberate. Then wall, floor, niche, grout, and silicone at every corner and change of plane.

  5. 05Day 5

    Vanity, fixtures and trim

Everything you actually touch goes in: vanity, top, faucet, toilet, mirror, lighting, hardware, door and trim.

  6. 06Day 6

    Walk-through and sign-off

We walk the room with you, write the punch list, finish it, and clean the space before we invoice.

on Angi

I hired 7 Days Remodel & Contracting to replace my deck and repair the front porch. I also needed new kitchen and bathroom flooring and tile on the kitchen counter and upstairs bathroom. Al and his team were extremely professional and multitasked to complete interior and exterior while I was away on military orders. Pleasantly surprised and extremely satisfied with the outcome and highly recommend them — Al communicated consistently throughout the process and completed the work as discussed prior to my return and on budget.

Al did a great job on our renovation of our three-unit apartment building. He showed up, his team showed up, and everyone was skilled, delivering a great result.

They start and finish the work and I'm happy.

The job was done in a timeframe that was shorter than projected. Their team was very professional and did a great job cleaning up behind themselves.

Straight answers

Bathroom questions we get in Belmont.

How long does a bathroom remodel take?

A standard full bath runs about seven working days on site, plus the shower glass, which is templated after the tile is grouted and installed when the fabricator delivers. Layout changes, custom tile patterns and long-lead vanities push that out — and we put the real number in your written proposal instead of the optimistic one.

Can we still use the bathroom while you work?

Not the one we're building. If it's your only full bath, tell us at the estimate — we sequence the toilet back in as early as the work allows and we'll tell you honestly which nights you'll want a plan B.

Do you pull the permits?

Yes. Plumbing and electrical permits are pulled with your town's building department and we schedule the inspections. You don't chase paperwork.

What does a bathroom remodel cost?

It depends on the size of the room, whether the layout moves, and what you pick for tile, vanity, fixtures and glass. We don't quote bathrooms over the phone. The on-site estimate is free, takes about thirty minutes, and produces a written itemized price within 48 hours.

Can you convert a tub into a walk-in shower?

Yes, and it's one of the most common jobs we do in older Greater Boston homes. It usually means a new pan and drain location, a proper sloped mortar bed and membrane, and a decision about whether to keep a curb or go curbless — which depends on your joists. We look at that at the estimate.

Do you do small bathrooms and powder rooms?

Yes. A 5×7 second-floor bath in a 1920s two-family is our bread and butter, and a powder room is a short job we're happy to schedule.

What about asbestos or lead paint?

We don't do asbestos abatement or de-leading — those need a licensed specialist and we'll refer you to one. If we find something behind the wall during demo, we stop, tell you, and don't disturb it.

Who is actually in my house?

Our own vetted, certified crew. Same faces from demo day to the final walk-through, and you have Alessandro's number the entire time.
